A study at NIH is recruiting healthy African Americans and African-born individuals to better understand diabetes and heart disease risk in Black populations. If you are African American or African-born Black between the ages of 18 and 70 years.

Researchers at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute in Bethesda, Maryland, are conducting a study to evaluate the airway immunity in adults with a positive TB skin or blood test. With this study, researchers hope to discover better prevention and treatments for TB.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) creates an imbalance in the innate immune system responsible for chronic inflammation. A study at NHLBI is looking into a Vitamin B supplement, nicotinamide riboside (NR), to see if it improves immune system function in people with SLE. People with SLE will be asked to take the supplement or placebo for 12 weeks. Healthy control subjects will be enrolled to compare baseline blood results but will not take the supplement.

Dr. Kevin Hall and his team at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) are seeking male volunteers aged 18-65 and female volunteers aged 18-50 for a study on how low-carb (ketogenic) diets, with or without an investigational dietary supplement called Nicotinamide Riboside, impacts energy levels and metabolism during sleep.

Researchers are examining genetic and physical characteristics of the small vessel disease called CADASIL (cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarct and leukoencephalopathy). They are enrolling volunteers to serve as healthy controls. Compensation is provided.

Healthy volunteers 18-60 years old are needed to test an investigational drug that was developed to reduce blood pressure in the lungs. The PAH team from @NHLBI hope that this investigational study drug may be helpful in treating patients with PAH in the future.

This study aims to learn more about how drinking alcohol changes your decision-making. Participants will be asked to consume drinks that might or might not have alcohol, then have magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans to look at brain activity while making choices related to risky sexual behavior. The study requires two visits to the NIH Clinical Center. Compensation of up to $400 for your time and effort will be provided.

Researchers at NIH's Laboratory of Malaria Immunology and Vaccinology are seeking healthy volunteers to be part of a malaria vaccine research study.

A research study at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is is investigating how dietary habits affect our intestinal microorganisms by studying the effects of Mediterranean-like unprocessed (CLEAN-MED) diet. Participants will be divided into two groups, depending on their interest in trying out the diet for 4 weeks or maintaining a new healthy diet over months, and will be provided with some foods. Participants will log the food they eat and answer questions about their diet throughtout the study. Food and research supplies and procedures are provided at no cost.
