Welcome to the Translational Biobehavioral and Health Disparities Branch at the NIH Clinical Center
The Translational Biobehavioral and Health Disparities Branch (TBHD) conducts interdisciplinary, biobehavioral science focused on reducing health disparities through a translational whole person approach. Through basic, clinical and community-based approaches TBHD studies:
- cognitive-based, physiologic, biologic, and social mechanisms connecting exercise, sleep, and dietary behaviors to disease risk and well-being
- biological, physiological, behavioral, psychological, and environmental factors through integrated metagenomics
- biobehavioral outcomes in individuals with cancer and their caregivers
- methods for advanced data analytics and statistical applications including high-throughput omics sourced data and complex mixed modeling in interventional clinical trials.
