Established in 2000, the Pain and Palliative Care consultation service is available to all patients who are actively participating in a research study within the Clinical Research Center at the National Institutes of Health. Ask your research team if palliative care may help you and your family.
- Palliative Care seeks to treat symptoms caused by diseases or treatments that negatively affect quality of life such as pain, nausea, constipation, trouble sleeping, etc.
- NIH PPCS Consultation service is available to all patients who are actively participating in a research study within the Clinical Research Center at the National Institutes of Heath
- Patients are seen in any inpatient setting as well as in our outpatient clinic
- Referrals to our service are required by your treatment team
- Hospice Unit: Pain & Palliative Care Service oversees the care of two designated adult inpatient hospice beds located on 3SEN unit. The provision of hospice care is available to all active protocol participants.
