    NIH mourns the loss of John I. Gallin, MD, longest-serving director of the NIH Clinical Center

    It is with a heavy heart that I share that Dr. John I. Gallin, the 10th and longest-serving director of the NIH Clinical Center, died at his home on Oct. 10, 2024, of multiple myeloma at the age of 81 with his wife Elaine Gallin, PhD, by his side.
