Healthy Volunteers Needed
Investigators at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute are seeking healthy volunteers, 18-60 years old, who are interested in participating in a study to collect mobilized blood stem cells that will be used in the laboratory to develop new treatments for blood diseases.
There is no cost for study related tests or procedures. Participants will receive compensation.
During the study you will:
- Receive five injections over five days of a medication called filgrastrim to increase your production of white blood cells
- Have a procedure called leukapheresis to collect the white blood cells
- Provide blood samples and undergo a history and physical exam
You may be eligible to participate if you are:
- 18 to 60 years old and in good health
- Not pregnant or planning on becoming pregnant in the near future
Location: The study takes place at the NIH Clinical Center, America's Research Hospital in Bethesda, MD. We are on the Metro red line (Medical Center stop).
