Social Drinkers Needed for MRI Study

This study aims to learn more about how drinking alcohol changes your decision-making. Participants will be asked to consume drinks that might or might not have alcohol, then have magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans to look at brain activity while making choices related to risky sexual behavior. The study requires two visits to the NIH Clinical Center. Compensation of up to $400 for your time and effort will be provided.
You may be eligible to participate if you:
- Are 21 to 65 years old
- Are in good health
- Drink alcohol occasionally or regularly
You may not be eligible if you:
- Are not currently seeking treatment for alcohol use disorder
- Have not ever been diagnosed with a drug use problem
- Have metals in your body (i.e., pacemakers, medication pumps, aneurysm clips)
- Other exclusion criteria may apply
During this study, you will:
- Be asked to consume drinks with or without alcohol
- Have magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
- Have two visits to the NIH Clinical Center
