Infant Research Opportunity

Researchers at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) are studying the motor skills and brain development of infants who are at high-risk for Cerebral Palsy (CP). Results may assist with better treatment methods for CP. This is an outpatient study, and all infants require parents' permission to participate. There is no charge for study-related tests or visits.

Study Details:

  • Assessment of Motor Skills: Your infant will be encouraged to reach for toys and take supported steps on a treadmill.
  • Assessment of Brain Development: Your infant will wear a snug cap containing sensors that record brain activity during the motor tasks.

Who Can Participate?

  • Infants ages 3 months and up with cerebral palsy who are not yet walking independently

Visits:

  • You and your infant have the option to come for two or more visits at the NIH.

Compensation will be provided for participation.
