Recruiting Healthy Volunteers for the NIH Mini Study

A Study of Metabolism, Infection and Immunity

Researchers at the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) are seeking healthy children to participate in a research study to understand the immune system of patients with mitochondrial disease in comparison to their healthy peers.

Study Design:

  • Specimen collection and blood draw
  • Onsite participation. First visit will last 1 day
  • Compensation for participation is provided

Your child may be eligible if he/she:

  • They are between 2 and 17 years old (parents and guardians must give permission for minors to participate)
  • Do not have severe allergies to eggs or latex products
  • Do not have a current infection or under the care of a medical provider for ongoing medical issues
