Research Study for Recurrent Implantation Failure and Pregnancy Loss

Doctors at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) are looking for women, between the age of 18-42 years old for a research study investigating recurrent implantation failure, early pregnancy loss, recurrent pregnancy loss. Researchers want to look at the uterine lining, called the endometrium, to understand its role in implantation and miscarriage.

You may be eligible for the infertility cohorts if you have ANY of the following:

  • Implantation failure, defined as three or more failed transfers of high-quality embryos
  • Early pregnancy failure, defined as having 2 or more biochemical pregnancies after high quality embryo transfer
  • Recurrent pregnancy loss, defined as loss of two or more, ultrasound-confirmed pregnancies after high quality embryo transfer
  • Required ART for male factor infertility and were successful conceiving after the first embryo transfer. Same sex female couples are welcome

Study details:

  • Participants will only be required to attend 2-3 visits (1 telehealth, 1-2 in person)
  • Participants will be taught how to monitor urine luteinizing hormone (LH) at home with an ovulation predictor kit
  • Blood tests will be drawn
  • Uterine lavage and endometrial biopsy will be performed

There is no cost for participation and compensation will be provided upon completion of the study.
