Dr. Kevin Hall and his team at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) are seeking male volunteers aged 18-65 and female volunteers aged 18-50 for a study on how low-carb (ketogenic) diets, with or without an investigational dietary supplement called Nicotinamide Riboside, impacts energy levels and metabolism during sleep.

You may qualify if you:

  • Have stable weight
  • Can perform moderate exercise on a stationary bike

Study design:

  • Two two-week inpatient stays at the NIH Clinical Center
  • Blood work, urine, and stool collections
  • Two whole-body X-ray (DXA) and MRI scans
  • Daily sleep and physical activity monitoring

The NIH Clinical Center, America's Research Hospital, is located in Bethesda, MD, on the Metro Red Line (Medical Center stop).
