A research study at the NIH is testing whether a medication called Tirzepatide can help people who are overweight and drink alcohol regularly reduce alcohol intake and improve liver function.
Who Can Join?
- Adults ages 21+
- Drink alcohol regularly
- Overweight; BMI 25-40
What's Involved?
- Screening and health assessments
- Weekly outpatient visits for 12 weeks
- Study medication or placebo administered via injection
- Provide samples to help researchers study genetics linked to alcohol use and liver disease
