NIAAA seek volunteers who are dependent on opioids like heroin, hydrocodone, fentanyl, methadone or oxycodone and are receiving or not receiving treatment for their addiction. The purpose of this research study is to learn how opiate use disorder affects dopamine signaling in the brain. This is not a treatment study for addiction. Refer to study 17-AA-0114.
Are you a heavy drinker? NIAAA researchers are seeking research volunteers for a study testing a medication that may reduce cravings for alcohol. There is an inpatient stay for approximately 3-4 weeks. Compensation is provided. Refer to study 16-AA-0080.
NIDDK seeks healthy normal weight men, 18-35, to participate in a research study. Doctors want to learn how the body burns energy at different temperatures. Researchers are conducting a research study on CLN3, Batten disease a neurodegenerative disease, with typical onset in children to identify markers of disease and to better understand CLN3 and how it develops over time.
