Dr. Nadia Guirguis supervises the Outpatient Pharmacy Section which is responsible for dispensing prescriptions for CC patients who are being discharged, going on pass or basic take home medications after being seen in at the various clinics.

Dr. Guirguis studied pharmacy at the Cairo University in Cairo, Egypt. After graduating, she moved to the United States where she completed her pharmacy board licensing from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in 1996.
Dr. Guirguis joined the NIH as a pharmacist in the outpatient pharmacy shortly after completing her licensing. She has spent the last 23 years dedicated to the mission of NIH's Pharmacy Department in Outpatient Pharmacy.
The Outpatient Pharmacy team is also responsible for medication counseling to all patients. The Pharmacy team's goal is patient safety and accuracy in filling prescriptions is vital to reaching that goal.
During her tenure with NIH, Dr. Guirguis has been honored with awards such as the Clinical Center Director's award and the Clinical Center Director's Leadership award.
In addition to her advanced knowledge in the field of pharmacy and her leadership role as Outpatient Pharmacy Section Chief, Dr. Guirguis was also chosen as the perfect candidate to write and update the outpatient pharmacy policies and develop an outpatient orientation for new nurses and new pharmacy staff members to understand NIH pharmacy duties.
