Dr. Michelly K. Sampaio de Melo is a Staff Hematopathologist in the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the NIH Clinical Center. She specializes in the diagnostic evaluation of blood and bone marrow disorders, and coagulation disorders.

Dr. Sampaio de Melo earned her medical degree from the Federal University of Paraíba in Brazil. She subsequently completed her residency and fellowship in Internal Medicine and Hematology in Brazil before relocating to the United States.

She completed her residency training in Anatomic Pathology in 2022 and fellowship in Hematopathology in 2024 at the Laboratory of Pathology, National Cancer Institute (NIH).

Dr. Sampaio de Melo holds board certification in both Anatomic Pathology and Hematopathology from the American Board of Pathology.
