Dr. Bernadette A. Redd is body imaging radiologist, with special interests in body, breast, and musculoskeletal MRI.

Dr. Redd earned her Doctorate in Medicine from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City in 1989. After completing an Internship in Internal Medicine at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City, she completed her Residency in Diagnostic Radiology from 1990 to 1994 at Montefiore Hospital of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, where she served as Chief Resident.
From 1994 to 1999, Dr. Redd worked for the US Indian Health Service as a Staff Radiologist at the Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock, NM. She served as Acting Chair of Radiology from August 1996 to July 1997. While with IHS, Dr. Redd developed an in-house FDA-certified mammography program, a mobile MRI program, and an in-house CT imaging program. She was the recipient of the Navajo Area Indian Health Service Area Director's Award for Exceptional Performance in 1997.
From 1999 to 2000, Dr. Redd trained as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Fellow at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University, New York Presbyterian Hospital, in New York City. Her emphasis during fellowship training was on vascular, body, musculoskeletal and breast MRI.
From December 2000 to August 2018, Dr. Redd lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and worked in private practice with X-Ray Associates of New Mexico. During this time, Dr. Redd's work was clinically based with an emphasis on body, breast, and musculoskeletal MRI exam interpretation and protocol development and implementation.
Dr. Redd joined the Radiology and Imaging Sciences Department at the NIH Clinical Center in 2018.
