Franklin Miller, PhD

Franklin G. Miller, Ph.D. retired in 2015 as a member of the senior faculty in the Department of Bioethics, National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dr. Miller has written two books, The Ethical Challenges of Human Research: Selected Essays and Death, Dying, and Organ Transplantation (co-authored with Robert Truog), edited seven books, and written numerous published articles in medical and bioethics journals research ethics, ethical issues concerning death and dying, health policy, and placebo effects. Dr. Miller is Deputy Editor of Perspectives in Biology and Medicine, Professor of Medical Ethics in Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College, and a fellow of the Hastings Center.
