Dr. Fenton's main bioethics research interests are related to global health ethics and to ethical issues in surgery. One recent (and ongoing) project that unites her background in bioethics and cardiac surgery has been to delve into the ethical issues involved in procurement of hearts and lungs for transplantation following circulatory declaration of death, as well as questions related to xenotransplantation. The executive summary of a related workshop she organized at NHLBI is published on the NHLBI website.
